Senior PDK Manager (Confidential)

Location: UK | Hybrid Company: Confidential Semiconductor Leader

Overview

A rapidly scaling semiconductor business is seeking a Senior PDK Manager to take full ownership of its Process Design Kit (PDK) strategy, development, and release lifecycle.

This is a business-critical, standalone role rather than a position within a large CAD department. As the internal PDK authority, you will drive best practices across multiple foundries and process nodes while working cross-functionally with design and software teams.

Key Responsibilities

Ownership: Lead the end-to-end development, maintenance, and release of PDKs across various foundries.
Automation: Develop and maintain sophisticated automation scripts using Python and SKILL.
Verification Support: Oversee analog verification flows, including DRC, LVS, PEX, and Dummy Fill.
Problem Solving: Resolve complex front-end simulation and flow-related bottlenecks.
Infrastructure: Implement structured version control, CI/CD processes, and drive CAD infrastructure improvements.

Required Experience

Technical Background: Extensive experience in EDA, CAD, and PDK development.
Autonomy: Proven ability to work independently or lead a lean PDK function.
Programming: High proficiency in Python and/or SKILL.
Verification Mastery: Deep understanding of analog verification tools (DRC, LVS, PEX).
Foundry Knowledge: Practical experience across major foundries and multiple technology nodes.
Workflows: Solid experience with Git and modern automation/CI-CD workflows.
