The Opportunity

We are launching a brand-new sand and gravel quarry operation and are looking for an Assistant Quarry Manager to help lead this site from day one. Working closely with the Quarry Manager, you will have a unique chance to build, develop, and optimize a high-output operation supplying major infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operational Leadership: Supporting the daily management of the quarry and serving as the appointed person responsible for production (8.1D).

  • Safety & Compliance: Embedding a world-class Health & Safety culture and ensuring all operations meet environmental permits and planning permissions.

  • Performance Optimization: Monitoring production to meet customer demand while maintaining efficiency through smart maintenance planning.

  • Team Development: Coaching and training site teams to foster a high-performance, collaborative environment.

  • Financial & Environmental Stewardship: Managing costs and budgets while ensuring the site minimizes its environmental footprint and maintains positive local stakeholder relations.

What You’ll Bring

  • Industry Expertise: Experience in quarrying, aggregates, or a similar heavy industrial sector.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: A solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation, Quarry Regulations, and environmental compliance.

  • Leadership Skills: The ability to lead teams with a proactive, hands-on approach and excellent communication.

  • Operational Mindset: Strong organizational skills and the commercial awareness to manage budgets and performance targets.
