The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Quarry Manager to lead operations at our strategic Westleigh limestone site. As the Statutory 8.1(c) appointee, you will have full accountability for extraction, production, restoration, and financial performance.

Leading a team of approximately 30 colleagues across maintenance, operations, and the weighbridge, you will ensure a seamless supply to the local market and our onsite asphalt plant. This role is perfect for a seasoned Quarry Manager or an established 8.1(d) professional ready to take the next step into full site responsibility.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Statutory Leadership: Acting as the 8.1(c) authority, ensuring strict adherence to Quarry Regulations, planning permissions, and environmental permits.

• Operational Excellence: Managing all site activities in alignment with geotechnical assessments, design plans, and safe systems of work.

• Financial Oversight: Taking ownership of site budgets, cost control, and financial reporting to meet business targets.

• Production & Distribution: Coordinating with commercial and asphalt teams to meet customer demand efficiently.

• Drilling & Blasting: Overseeing in-house blasting operations to ensure safety and compliance.

• Team Development: Leading and mentoring the site team through performance management and succession planning.

Who You Are

• Industry Expert: Proven experience in the quarrying industry with a deep understanding of UK Quarry Regulations.

• Safety Conscious: Hold a relevant Health & Safety qualification and sound geotechnical awareness.

• Commercially Minded: Skilled in managing budgets and driving site financial performance.
