Consultant Breast Radiologist | East Midlands

NHS Teaching Hospital Salary: £109,725 – £145,478 (Dependent on experience)

The Opportunity

A leading NHS teaching hospital in the East Midlands is seeking a Consultant Breast Radiologist to join a highly regarded radiology department. Supported by a robust team of middle-grade doctors and consultant colleagues, you will play a central role in delivering symptomatic imaging, breast screening, and interventional care.

This position is open to both UK-based and International doctors. We particularly welcome applications from those on the GMC Specialist Register or with European Specialist registration. For those requiring Portfolio Support (formerly CESR), tailored guidance is available and can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Core Responsibilities

  • Specialist Imaging: Deliver high-quality symptomatic breast clinics and screening assessments.

  • Clinical Leadership: Lead and participate in Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings for breast cancer diagnosis and management.

  • Diagnostics & Reporting: Perform and report across a full range of modalities, including mammography, ultrasound, and MRI.

  • Intervention: Undertake image-guided procedures, including biopsies, localizations, and advanced interventional techniques.

Requirements

  • Registration: Full GMC registration and FRCR (or equivalent).

  • Specialization: CCT in Clinical Radiology (or within 6 months of completion) with significant subspecialty training in Breast Radiology.

  • Interests: A dedicated interest in breast MRI, intervention, and collaborative MDT working.
