The Opportunity

We are partnering with a growing medico-legal provider to recruit Consultant Pain Specialists. This role is designed for consultants seeking a highly flexible source of additional income with a minimal administrative burden. You will provide expert assessments and reports for personal injury and Road Traffic Accident (RTA) cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Assessments: Conduct expert evaluations focused on chronic pain and injury.

• Clinical Review: Analyze instruction letters and relevant medical records.

• Reporting: Complete professional medico-legal reports (with significant drafting support provided).

• Case Range: Manage a mix of fast-track and complex cases.

Workload & Commitment

This position offers total flexibility to fit around your existing commitments:

• Time per Case: Approximately 2 hours total.

  • 1 hour for the patient assessment.

  • 1 hour for report finalization.

• Scheduling: Fully flexible based on your availability.

Remuneration & Support

• Highly Competitive Pay: £200–£250 per hour (£400–£500 per assessment).

• Payment Terms: 90-day settlement.

• Full Admin Support: Dedicated medical secretaries handle bookings, coordination, and the preparation of draft reports, leaving you to focus on the clinical expert opinion.

Requirements

• Must be on the GMC Specialist Register (Pain Medicine or a relevant specialty).

• Current or previous experience as an NHS Consultant.

• Previous medico-legal experience is desirable but not essential.
