Health Care Support Worker (Band 3) | Inpatient Mental Health
Employer: NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) Location: Stobhill Hospital Working Pattern: 4/7 shifts per week (includes nights, weekends, and public holidays)
The Role
NHSGGC, the largest healthcare system in the UK, is looking for a compassionate and motivated Band 3 Health Care Support Worker to join our Inpatient Mental Health Services. This is a vital role focused on delivering person-centered, recovery-oriented care to individuals during their most vulnerable moments. You will work as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, building therapeutic relationships with patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care: Implement agreed-upon care plans with a focus on dignity and recovery.

Safety & Risk Management: Collaborate with the clinical team to assess and manage risks, identifying and reporting concerns promptly.

Holistic Support: Assist patients with daily living activities, physical health needs, and mental health promotion.

Communication: Maintain high-quality, accurate records and ensure seamless communication across the care team.

Professional Standards: Adhere to strict policies regarding infection control, confidentiality, and health and safety.
Requirements

Qualifications: Educated to (or working towards) SVQ Level 3 / SCQF Level 6, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience: Previous experience in a health, mental health, or social care setting is highly desirable.

Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain professional boundaries.

Tech Literacy: Competent in using digital systems and willing to undergo further training.

Visa Note: Please note that for Band 3 roles, only posts of 32 hours per week or more are eligible for sponsorship. Applications requiring sponsorship for roles below this threshold cannot be considered.
