The Opportunity

NHS Ayrshire & Arran is seeking a passionate, creative, and adaptable Health Visitor to join our Children and Families Health Team in Irvine. We are committed to a “whole system approach”—thinking and doing things differently to ensure North Ayrshire is the best place for children to grow up.

The Role

As a vital member of our multi-disciplinary integrated team, you will:

  • Partner with Families: Act as a key support for families and children, ensuring they receive the best possible start in life.

  • Collaborate: Work alongside NHS colleagues and partner services to deliver high-quality, safe, and respectful care.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Registered Nurse or Midwife (Degree level) with a post-registration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing.

  • Registration: Must be registered on Part 3 of the NMC register.

  • Education: Educated to Masters level in a relevant area, or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge (e.g., via NES Assessment modules).

  • Driving: A full UK driving licence is essential.

  • Right to Work: Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship may be considered on a case-by-case basis for eligible roles.

Working Hours & Benefits

  • Current: 29.6 hours per week.

  • Upcoming Change: Effective 1 April 2026, the standard working week for Agenda for Change staff is reducing from 37 to 36 hours (pro-rata for part-time) with no loss of earnings.
