Job Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer for Maintenance to join our Kandy operations. This role is ideal for an individual with strong technical expertise in mechanical systems and a proven ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment. The position requires both preventive and corrective maintenance skills, as well as the ability to lead by example in ensuring safety compliance and operational excellence.
Key Duties
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of machines and mechanical systems.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential maintenance issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during all mechanical operations.
- Record and maintain detailed reports on maintenance work, equipment performance, and repairs.
- Provide guidance and training to junior engineers and technicians on best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in industrial machinery.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Proficiency in applying safety protocols and standards in maintenance operations.
- Effective communication and team coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
- Self-motivated and capable of achieving goals with minimal supervision.
