Role Overview
As a Marketplace Specialist, you will play a key role in strengthening and managing Koko’s merchant partnerships. This position requires working closely with merchants to optimize their presence on the platform, analyzing performance, driving engagement, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
The role is best suited for individuals who are detail-driven, analytical, and effective at building strong, lasting relationships with business partners.
Key Duties
- Support merchant onboarding processes, including automated systems and KYC.
- Keep merchant records accurate and updated across internal systems.
- Assist merchants in listing, updating, and optimizing products.
- Track and report performance metrics such as GMV, order volume, and category growth.
- Design and coordinate merchant engagement campaigns and promotions.
- Address merchant queries and resolve operational issues in a timely manner.
- Build strong relationships with key merchants to improve satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to run campaigns and seasonal promotions.
- Identify underperforming merchants and implement reactivation strategies.
- Suggest improvements to processes and contribute to automation initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in e-commerce, fintech, or marketplace management.
- Proficiency in Sinhala and English with strong communication skills.
- Strong relationship management and negotiation abilities.
- Knowledge of merchant lifecycle management and engagement strategies.
- Familiarity with dashboards, CRM tools, and reporting systems.
- Experience in BNPL or fintech is an advantage but not essential.
- Regional market exposure (Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal) is a plus.
