The Role & Responsibilities

As a Zamboni Driver, you will:

Operate and maintain the Zamboni machine before and during public and private ice sessions, ensuring the ice is smooth, clean, and at optimal quality for skaters. This involves running resurfacing cycles with precision and care.
Promptly report and facilitate solutions to keep operations on schedule
Support the ice-crew team, ensuring they have guidance, tools, and clear direction—especially during peak periods, events, or unexpected maintenance situations
Monitor and adjust ice temperature and quality, adapting to changing conditions—such as humidity or increased usage—to maintain safety and performance standards
Adhere to safety protocols, maintain cleanliness around the ice equipment area, and follow organizational standards during operations

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license and ability to drive the Zamboni machine safely—essential for navigating the rink and performing precise operations
High school diploma or equivalent—preferred, as it reflects basic readiness for structured work environments
Mechanical aptitude; prior experience with maintenance or machinery is advantageous, helping you diagnose minor equipment issues quickly
Ice rinks often operate beyond standard business hours to accommodate lessons, events, and community access
Access to reliable transportation, ensuring timely arrival for scheduled shifts and potential after-hours assignments What We’re Looking For
