Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and technically driven Assistant Engineer – Radio Network Planning to support regional network planning and optimization activities within the Western province. This role is critical to ensuring superior network coverage, capacity, and quality of service (QoS) across 2G, 3G, and 4G technologies, while delivering effective solutions to customer and network-related challenges.

Key Responsibilities

The Job

• Complaint Resolution: Analyze and resolve access network-related customer complaints with a strong focus on root cause identification.

• Field & Performance Testing: Conduct field visits and perform drive tests, application testing, and VIP user analysis to identify and address service issues.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to improve overall network service quality and systematically reduce complaint volumes.

• SLA & Standards Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to divisional Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and high-quality service standards.

• Solution Engineering: Design and deliver cost-effective engineering solutions aligned with customer needs and broader business objectives.

• Team Coordination: Coordinate closely with Network Planning, Operations, and Field Support teams for seamless, end-to-end solution delivery.

• Service Verification: Perform thorough end-to-end service verification and ensure effective communication and closure with the customer.

• Capacity Planning: Support regional coverage and capacity planning based on localized complaint trends and regional business requirements.

• Feasibility Studies: Contribute to site planning, Joint Feasibility Studies (JFS), and regional capacity enhancement initiatives.

• CX Optimization: Analyze customer experience trends and recommend innovative performance improvements using modern technologies and tools.

• Network Monitoring: Continuously monitor and improve regional network performance and Quality of Service (QoS).

• Feature Trials: Support network optimization initiatives, network tuning, and technical feature trials to enhance service quality.

• Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot complex network issues and manage technical trouble tickets for timely, effective resolution.

Entry Requirements

The Person

• Education: BSc in Engineering (Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Science) from a recognized university OR an equivalent professional qualification (e.g., AMIE, B.Tech, HNDE, NDT, NDES, or NVQ Level 5).

• Experience Framework: * Fresh graduates holding a Bachelor’s degree are highly encouraged to apply.

  • OR A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience for degree holders.

  • OR A minimum of 6 years of experience for diploma or NVQ qualification holders.

• Technical Knowledge: Foundational knowledge of radio access technologies (RAT) and network optimization fundamentals.

• Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with standard radio planning and optimization tools, alongside network monitoring systems (such as Huawei, Ericsson, etc.).

• Data Analytics: Strong analytical skills utilizing tools like MS Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.

• Project Management: Basic project management capabilities and a structured approach to execution.
