The Role

As the Assistant Manager of Engineering (HVAC), you will be the technical lead responsible for the heart of the hotel’s climate and cooling systems. Your focus will be on maintaining high service availability, safety compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Operational Oversight: Manage daily maintenance tasks, work orders, and special engineering projects, ensuring timely completion.

  • Asset Management: Maintain rigorous service and repair records for all plant and equipment.

  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure the property’s physical plant, grounds, and work areas meet global brand standards and local safety codes.

  • Team Leadership: Train and mentor the engineering team on advanced maintenance procedures and provide hands-on assistance during complex repairs.

  • Optimization: Balance operational needs with owner satisfaction by maximizing the potential of the maintenance department.

Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience with reputable hospitality brands, including a minimum of 3–5 years in international star-class hotels overseas.

  • Education: Technical Diploma in Engineering or a specialized HVAC field.

  • Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of centralized chiller plants, refrigeration, air-conditioning, and Treated Fresh Air (TFA) units.

  • Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities and the leadership presence to manage a diverse team of technical professionals.
