Salary: £26,312 – £30,995 + performance bonus & benefits

The Role
SSE Renewables operates Scotland’s most iconic hydro-electric assets, providing 1,459MW of clean energy. As a Hydro Auxiliary Plant Attendant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair of hydro plant equipment. Your work ensures our facilities remain safe, efficient, and ready to power the journey toward Net Zero.
Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Inspection: Conduct routine maintenance, safety inspections, and cleaning at power stations, dams, and associated buildings.

Technical Support: Assist the maintenance team with minor repairs, servicing, and defect rectification.

Environmental Management: Optimize water catchment areas through manual tasks such as hill ditching, increasing storage capacity in small dams, and clearing intake structures.

Safety & Reporting: Perform risk assessments and environmental inspections, reporting any operational defects immediately.

Growth: You will receive specialized training to operate fixed Generation plant equipment.
What We’re Looking For
We need a practical, enthusiastic individual who can work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
Requirements:

Experience: Background in civil/estate works, forestry, or farming.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of outdoor maintenance (e.g., ditching, road repairs, and general building maintenance).

Resilience: Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and available for occasional work outside standard hours.

License: A full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
