Role Overview

Location: Head Office / Corporate Building – 3rd Floor

Job Purpose: The selected candidate will be responsible for importing, processing, analyzing, modeling, and presenting data to uncover future opportunities and operational improvements. You will deliver advanced analytics, automated dashboards, and comprehensive reports to drive strategic decision-making, while managing ad-hoc data requests from various Business Units. The role requires systematically gathering, appraising, and mining primary and secondary data sources, restructuring them into easily readable formats for both human and machine consumption.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Analytics, Modeling & Experimentation

• Exploratory Analysis: Carry out deep exploratory data analysis, data visualization, and rigorous hypothesis testing.

• Model Management: Provide ongoing tracking, monitoring, periodic revision, and retraining of statistical models and predictive decision systems to ensure they remain automated and live within key business processes.

• Experimental Design: Design and execute structured data experiments to validate novel business use cases.

• Scalable Data Preparation: Perform data preparation, cleaning, and complex feature engineering at scale across internal and external data streams.

• Performance Tracking: Define and monitor performance tracking metrics, including incremental take-up, revenue impact, and overall ROI to identify further optimization avenues.

Business Intelligence & Operational Excellence

• Dashboard Development: Create and maintain dynamic dashboards via Tableau/Safe Harbor to cater to specific divisional business requirements.

• Stakeholder Insights: Synthesize quantitative and qualitative research findings into actionable intelligence, presenting them clearly to senior management and internal stakeholders.

• Project Governance: Define clear activities, strategic direction, scope, and timelines for specialized data science projects.

• Campaign Execution: Partner with functional units to execute campaigns, measure their commercial effectiveness, and influence stakeholders to drive new analytical initiatives.

• Edge Analytics: Actively participate in the development of the “Analytics at the EDGE” project and groom Edge users on SQL and Tableau to empower self-service data extractions.

• Data Quality Governance: Oversee strict data quality management and data cleansing practices for all data sets relevant to the division.

Collaboration, R&D & Best Practices

• Cross-Functional Synergy: Work within agile, cross-functional teams to leverage organizational data and solve operational or interpersonal problems.

• Research & Development: Research industry best practices, prepare technology roadmaps, draft investment papers, and collaborate with internal/external parties on R&D tasks.

• DevOps Documentation: Maintain meticulous documentation of analytical methodologies, source codes, version control, and other development operations best practices.

• Continuous Learning: Drive knowledge sharing, build collaborative networks, and proactively acquire relevant professional certifications via MOOCs, SQL, Python, or R.

Entry Requirements

The Person

• Education: BSc in IT, Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Statistics, Software Engineering, Economics, or Business.

• Examination Benchmark: Must achieve a score of 70% or above on the entry-level technical examination.

• Core Traits: Deeply passionate about creating commercial value through scientific methods and rigorous data analysis.

• Training Prerequisites: Completion of Axiata Fast-forward Training.

• Professional Attributes: High tolerance for ambiguity and an openness to constructive feedback from design, strategy, and cross-functional disciplines.
