The Opportunity

Join Dowty at our cutting-edge manufacturing site near Gloucester, where we produce hand-made carbon fiber propulsion systems. As the Digital Technology – Data & Analytics Leader, you will spearhead our data strategy, leading a team to transform complex datasets into high-impact business insights for Dowty and the broader GE Aerospace organization.

The Role

In this pivotal leadership position, you will oversee the execution and operationalization of world-class, data-driven methods. You will lead a growing team (currently four professionals) to define, create, and maintain robust data models, reports, and visualizations across all Dowty sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Leadership: Define and execute a clear Data & Analytics strategy with high autonomy, identifying new opportunities to solve business problems.

  • Team Management: Mentor and coach a team of data professionals, fostering a culture of technical excellence and agile development.

  • Operational Excellence: Assessment of data maturity and management, using SQL and PL-SQL to drive visibility and facilitate critical decision-making.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with shared services (Data Science, IT, Engineering) to embed AI capabilities and lead data discovery, cleansing, and organization.

  • Execution: Oversee the full project lifecycle—from feasibility and prioritization to user acceptance and final operationalization.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven track record in identifying business analytics opportunities and managing projects through a structured data strategy.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong skills in building data models and BI visual displays. Proficiency in SQL and PL-SQL is essential.

  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience in people management and leading cross-functional teams.

  • Data Knowledge: Experience with data warehousing or assessing data maturity is highly desirable.

  • Security: Must be able to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC).
