Digital Verification Engineer – Cambridge

Following the success of our Ibex CPU and OpenTitan Root of Trust projects—developed alongside partners like Google—we are continuing to merge open-source principles with world-class chip design methodologies.

The Role

As a Digital Verification Engineer, you will apply industrial-strength verification to high-quality open-source designs. Your mission is to ensure these projects meet the highest commercial standards. Your work will span block- and system-level verification for OpenTitan, RISC-V cores, cryptographic CPUs (OTBN), and various peripherals (USB, I2C, SPI).

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect & Execute: Design, implement, and debug SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive verification plans, tests, and coverage metrics.

  • Collaboration: Review open-source contributions, debug regressions, and support partners through successful tapeouts.

  • Infrastructure: Contribute to the evolution of our test and CI environments.

Requirements

Essential:

  • 5+ years of industry experience in design verification.

  • Expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM.

  • Proven track record across the full verification lifecycle through to tapeout.

  • Proficiency in C and/or Python for automation and testing.

  • Strong collaborative skills using Git/GitHub.

Desirable:

  • Formal verification experience (e.g., Jasper).

  • Knowledge of RISC-V or ISA.

  • Security verification or silicon bring-up/debug experience.

  • Previous technical leadership.
