Executive – IT Store Support
Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka

Job Overview
The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing, configuring, and supporting IT infrastructure and business applications across our retail store network. This role ensures maximum system uptime, seamless retail operations, and rapid technical resolution for retail technology and hardware.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & System Maintenance

Store Systems Support: Provide first and second-level technical support for essential store systems, including POS terminals, self-checkout units, back-office applications, handheld devices, and peripheral hardware.

Hardware Troubleshooting: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot retail hardware such as barcode scanners, receipt printers, weighing scales, label printers, digital kiosks, tablets, and desktop PCs.

Network Infrastructure: Install, configure, and troubleshoot store network components, including network switches, Wi-Fi access points, firewalls, and general internet connectivity.
Operations, Deployments & Asset Management

Store Expansions: Actively assist in technology rollouts, new store openings, store relocations, and renovations.

System Monitoring: Continuously monitor store systems to guarantee operational continuity and maximum system availability.

IT Asset Administration: Support user account management, device provisioning, remote software deployment, and lifecycle IT asset management.

Documentation & Training: Maintain accurate IT documentation, hardware inventory records, support logs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) while conducting user training for store staff.
Compliance & Operational Flexibility

Security & Backups: Ensure strict compliance with corporate IT security policies, routine backup procedures, and operational standards.

Vendor Coordination: Coordinate closely with external vendors and internal IT engineering teams to resolve complex application and infrastructure issues.

On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call support rotation to provide technical assistance during weekends, holidays, or after-hours when required.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
-
Education: A Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a closely related field.

Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, technical support, or retail technology environments.

Industry Background: Prior experience in the retail, supermarket, FMCG, or hospitality sectors will be considered a strong advantage.
Technical Competencies

OS & Hardware: Strong hands-on experience with Windows/Linux operating systems, comprehensive hardware troubleshooting, and end-user support.

Networking: Solid understanding of LAN/WAN architectures, Wi-Fi management, VPN configurations, firewalls, and structured cabling.

Retail Tech Value-Add: Practical experience supporting dedicated POS systems, retail applications, or self-checkout solutions is highly advantageous.

Endpoint Management: Prior exposure to Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, and endpoint management solutions is preferred.
