Health Care Support Worker (Band 3)

Older Adult Community Mental Health Team | Caithness Hours: 36 Hours per week (Full-time, Permanent) Location: Negotiable between Dunbar Hospital (Thurso) and Town & County Hospital (Wick)

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 Health Care Support Worker to join our Older Adult Community Mental Health Team. Your primary focus will be supporting individuals to remain independent and well within their own communities across Caithness.

This is a dynamic role that requires a balance of independent initiative and collaborative teamwork. You will respond to daily challenges with adaptability and self-motivation, ensuring our service users receive high-quality, compassionate care.

Key Requirements

• Skills: Excellent communication, time management, and organizational abilities.

• Independence: The ability to work alone and use your own initiative while remaining a committed team player.

• Travel: A full, valid driving license is essential. You should have access to your own vehicle for work purposes if required (though pool cars may be available).

• Language: Applications from Gaelic speakers are warmly welcomed.

Pay & Working Pattern

• Hours: 36 hours per week (following the Agenda for Change reduction effective April 2026).

• Salary: Paid at Band 3 (Agenda for Change scales), with hourly rates adjusted to ensure pay remains protected despite the reduced working week.
