Front Office Business Analyst (Equities)

About the Role

FDM is a premier global business and technology consultancy. We are currently seeking a Front Office Business Analyst to join our team, supporting a major Financial Services client. This is a 12-month contract based in London (fully office-based), with significant potential for extension.

You will sit at the heart of the business, partnering with Traders, Compliance, Operations, and Technology to bridge the gap between complex regulatory mandates and actionable technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Workflow Optimization: Conduct end-to-end analysis of equities trading (from order placement to execution, booking, and reporting) to identify efficiency gains.

  • Requirements Engineering: Translate MiFID II obligations and complex business needs into precise functional specifications and user stories.

  • Systems Enhancement: Support the evolution of OMS/EMS and proprietary platforms, ensuring all updates align with Front Office requirements and regulatory standards.

  • UAT Leadership: Lead the User Acceptance Testing cycle, including test case design and validation of MiFID reporting outputs.

  • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary interface between the Trading floor, Compliance, and Dev teams to resolve issues and maintain strategic alignment.

About You

  • Experience: 3+ years as a Business Analyst in financial services, specifically within Front Office or active trading environments.

  • Equities Expertise: Deep understanding of equities markets and asset class nuances.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Hands-on experience with MiFID II (specifically RTS 22 transaction reporting and post-trade transparency).

  • Technical Literacy: Proven ability to convert complex regulatory documentation into structured technical requirements.

  • Collaboration: A track record of working effectively with developers, QA, and high-pressure trading desks.
