Ground Segment DevOps Engineer

The Opportunity
Join a pioneering Space company based in London as a Ground Segment DevOps Engineer. This role is central to bridging the gap between mission-critical development and high-stakes operations, ensuring the robust delivery of ground-based satellite services.
Key Responsibilities

CI/CD Optimization: Expand and maintain the CI/CD toolchain to ensure seamless, automated build, test, and deployment workflows.

Infrastructure Management: Oversee and enhance containerized environments utilizing Docker, Portainer, Harbor, and associated orchestration tools.

Deployment Strategy: Define and execute deployment procedures, including versioning, rollback strategies, and operational readiness for Ground Segment software.

Operational Excellence: Lead software maintenance processes to guarantee continuous availability of mission components.

Mission Support System (MSS) Tooling: Design and deploy critical tooling for automated product delivery, centralized logging, monitoring, and full system lifecycle orchestration.
Requirements

Containerization: Proven experience with Docker-based environments, registry management (e.g., Harbor), and the container lifecycle.

DevOps Pipelines: Hands-on expertise with GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.

Linux & Automation: A strong command of Linux environments, shell scripting, and general system automation.

Networking: A solid understanding of networking fundamentals for distributed systems (DNS, NFS, etc.).

Process Driven: Disciplined approach to documentation and configuration management.
