Job Description: Group Purchasing Apprentice

Location: Gateshead (Head Office) Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week)

The Opportunity

Vertu Motors is looking for an enthusiastic Purchasing Apprentice to join our team. Working closely with our dealerships and utility consultants, you will ensure all energy and meter queries are managed efficiently. This is an excellent entry-level role with full training provided—no prior purchasing or utility experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis: Review utility usage data to identify trends and patterns.
Advisory Support: Provide dealerships with actionable advice on how to reduce energy consumption.
Performance Tracking: Follow up with dealership management to ensure savings and usage targets are met.
Query Resolution: Manage utility queries tenaciously from initial contact through to a successful resolution.
Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with and influence General Managers and Accountants to implement efficiency changes.

What We Are Looking For

Communication Skills: You should be a confident communicator capable of building professional relationships and influencing others.
Technical Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel). Additional support and training are available.
Organization: Strong time management and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
Attitude: A driven, committed professional with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work.

Essential Criteria

Education: GCSEs (Level 4/9 or A-C) in English, Maths, and one other subject.
IT Skills: Solid understanding of Microsoft packages.
Precision: High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
