Product Engineering Manager – Semiconductors

Location: Near Cambridge (Bedford-based facility)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and driven Product Engineering Manager to lead semiconductor development and engineering activities at our Bedford facility. This pivotal leadership role supports both local wafer fabrication and global manufacturing operations, ensuring the delivery of innovative, high-performance semiconductor products from initial concept through to high-volume production.

The Role

As Product Engineering Manager, you will lead a specialist team of engineers focused on developing advanced semiconductor devices, including MOSFETs, TVS diodes, and Thyristors. You will oversee the full product lifecycle, collaborating with international, cross-functional teams to ensure all products meet rigorous performance, quality, and commercial benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership: Manage semiconductor product development from concept to mass production; provide technical mentorship and performance management.

• Operations: Oversee the design, testing, and qualification of new devices and manufacturing processes.

• Strategy & Planning: Drive project execution using MS Project and develop comprehensive business cases, including cost and timeline projections.

• Quality Standards: Ensure strict compliance with ISO 9001, TS16949, and AECQ standards.

• Continuous Improvement: Champion quality using Six Sigma, SPC, and DOE methodologies.

• Collaboration: Work closely with global engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.

• Innovation: Support R&D efforts through new designs and patented concepts while resolving complex process challenges.

Requirements

• Proven experience in semiconductor product engineering and team leadership.

• Technical expertise in power discrete devices (MOSFETs, Diodes, etc.).

• Strong background in quality management systems and statistical methodologies.

• Ability to navigate and lead within a global manufacturing framework.
