Relationship Manager – Project Finance
Role Overview
The selected candidate will be required to effectively manage a portfolio of project finance account relationships. The primary focus of this role is to grow the portfolio and enhance profitability while maintaining excellent asset quality and maximizing the financial return to the Bank.
Duties and Responsibilities
Portfolio Management & Growth

Portfolio Oversight: Manage the Bank’s existing project finance portfolio while evaluating and structuring new credit proposals to expand project lending operations.

Deal Sourcing: Peruse and identify opportunities within the existing and new client base (including off-shore opportunities) to secure project financing transactions and establish HNB as the preferred banking partner.

Cross-Selling: Cross-sell the Bank’s diverse products and services to maximize income generation.
Monitoring, Risk & Compliance

Post-Disbursement Monitoring: Monitor granted facilities through periodic customer visits and site inspections to ensure timely recovery and maintain asset quality.

Risk Mitigation: Actively monitor early warning signals and take prudent measures to preserve overall portfolio quality.

Policy Adherence: Keep up to date with and adhere strictly to internal banking policies, procedures, and statutory regulatory guidelines.
Syndication & Coordination

Lender Coordination: Coordinate with other lenders and financial institutions to arrange complex loan syndications and co-financing arrangements.
Requirements & Qualifications
Educational Qualifications
-
Required: A degree from a recognized university, preferably in finance, accounting, or engineering, or an equivalent professional qualification.

Preferred: A specialized qualification in project financing and/or an MBA will be considered a distinct advantage.
Work Experience
-
A minimum of 08 years of experience within the banking or finance industry.

A minimum of 3 years of direct experience operating in the capacity of a Relationship Manager – Project Finance.

A sound, demonstrable knowledge of structuring complex credit proposals.
Competencies

A strong, practical understanding of project lending mechanisms.

Proven ability to analyze, evaluate data, and make decisions independently.

Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication capabilities, paired with strong presentation skills.

Effective relationship management and client retention skills.

Strong networking capabilities and public relations (PR) skills.

Robust credit analysis skills.
