Senior Data Scientist

Job Purpose

To design, develop, and deploy data-driven use cases and deliver actionable intelligence using advanced data analytics tools and methodologies. This role supports the organization in achieving its digitization goals and driving strategic and tactical decision-making through complex data acquisition, transformation, and modeling.

Key Responsibilities

Model Development & Research

• Advanced AI Solutions: Develop advanced analytics, machine learning (supervised/unsupervised), AI, and LLM-based (Generative AI) solutions ranging from initial Proof of Concepts (POCs) to production-ready systems.

• Statistical Analysis: Conduct exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, hypothesis testing, and other advanced statistical techniques to identify key modeling features.

• R&D Innovation: Research emerging AI technologies—including LLMs, multi-modal models, and AI agents—and evaluate their commercial viability for business use cases.

Operations, Deployment & Support

• MLOps Collaboration: Partner closely with MLOps and DevOps teams to productionize models, automate data pipelines, and ensure system scalability and reliability.

• Production Support: Provide Tier-3 (L3) operational support for AI, ML, and GenAI solutions deployed in production environments.

• Feedback Optimization: Gather feedback from live model outputs and collaborate with stakeholders to continuously optimize model accuracy, business processes, and retraining strategies.

Strategy, Governance & Mentorship

• Executive Presentation: Translate complex analytical findings and AI strategies into clear, business-focused presentations for senior management.

• Roadmap & Governance: Prepare AI and analytics roadmaps aligned with corporate strategy, and define comprehensive model governance frameworks (including performance tracking, explainability, and version control).

• Team Grooming: Guide, mentor, and conduct on-the-job training sessions for junior data analysts and intern data scientists to facilitate knowledge sharing.

Entry Requirements

The Person

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related quantitative field.

• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience working in a dedicated Data Science capacity.

• Programming & Libraries: Expert understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, with mandatory, proven hands-on experience in Python and standard libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

• Modern Tech Stack: Good conceptual and practical understanding of GenAI / Agentic AI technology stacks, along with data engineering experience across various environments (Data Warehouses, Big Data ecosystems, and Cloud Storage).

• Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience operating within at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

• Soft Skills: Strong data visualization capabilities coupled with excellent corporate communication skills.

• Testing & Internal Benchmarks: * Must score 70%+ on the Data Scientist entry exam (applicable for external hires).

  • Hold an AFF Data Science (Basic) credential.
