Role Overview

The Senior Executive – Consumer Insights & Data Analytics will be responsible for transforming raw consumer, shopper, and loyalty data into actionable commercial strategies. This role focuses on analyzing purchasing behaviors, evaluating market trends, and delivering data-driven recommendations to guide marketing, trade, and buying decisions within the competitive retail landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Insight Generation

  • Behavioral Analysis: Analyze consumer, shopper, and loyalty data to identify underlying purchasing behaviors, emerging trends, and evolving customer needs.

  • Performance Metrics: Generate deep insights regarding customer segmentation, shopping missions, trip frequency, basket sizes, and category performance.

  • Persona Development: Support the development of comprehensive shopper profiles and buyer personas to guide marketing and trade strategies.

Reporting & Stakeholder Communication

  • Dashboard Management: Develop and maintain structured dashboards and regular reports for key internal stakeholders across marketing, trade, buying, and executive management.

  • Actionable Recommendations: Translate complex data sets into clear, visual, and actionable insights that support strategic business decisions.

Campaign Evaluation & Market Research

  • Campaign Tracking: Conduct pre- and post-campaign analysis to precisely measure the effectiveness and ROI of promotions and marketing initiatives.

  • Research Initiatives: Support both qualitative and quantitative market research initiatives, including surveys, store-level feedback loops, and dedicated customer studies.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor and analyze broader market trends, competitor activity, and shopper dynamics within the modern trade and supermarket landscape.

  • Agency Coordination: Collaborate with external research agencies and cross-functional internal teams as required to execute research projects.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: A university degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a closely related discipline.

  • Experience: 3–4 years of progressive experience in consumer insights, data analytics, market research, or commercial analysis.

  • Industry Background: Prior experience within the retail, supermarket, FMCG, or modern trade sectors is strongly preferred.

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Capability: Advanced analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret, clean, and draw conclusions from large, complex data sets.

  • Software Proficiency: Mastery of advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Data Visualization: Hands-on experience with modern data visualization platforms (Power BI or Tableau is highly preferred).
