Specialist – Group Corporate Planning and Strategy

Role Overview

The primary purpose of this role is to assist in the formulation of the Group’s overarching business strategy. The incumbent will develop comprehensive revenue plans and core value drivers to enable the Group’s various business units to achieve their long-term vision, while coordinating cross-functionally to design and execute performance improvement plans.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Forecasting

  • Strategy Development: Actively contribute to the Long Range Plan (LRP) and Corporate Business Strategy by evaluating global industry trends, consumer evolution, and competitive landscapes to align Dialog Group’s objectives with the broader Axiata Group vision.

  • Financial Modeling: Prepare detailed revenue budgets and financial forecasts for Business Units (BUs) and Market Business Units (MBUs) to support the annual financial budgeting cycle.

  • Target Setting: Participate in establishing strategic commercial targets for various BUs and divisional sales teams.

  • Strategic Investments: Evaluate and recommend high-value investment projects and CAPEX rationalization schemes in line with corporate strategy to ensure ongoing value creation for the Group.

Business Intelligence & Performance Monitoring

  • Market Dynamics: Continuously study macroeconomic and telecom industry dynamics to identify emerging market opportunities and competitive threats, delivering actionable inputs to respective BUs.

  • Performance Systems: Design, build, and model organization-wide performance monitoring dashboards for Business Units and Sales Units.

  • KPI Management: Develop and align corporate KPIs with organizational objectives, benchmarking internal performance against industry best practices to ensure strict process control.

  • Management Reporting: Prepare monthly management dashboards and flash reports to track actual performance against targets, providing critical variance analysis and strategic suggestions to senior leadership for prompt action.

Operational Excellence & Group Deliverables

  • Executive Presentations: Model complex business plans and investment appraisals in MS Excel, and translate them into highly polished MS PowerPoint presentations with a clear executive storyline for top management.

  • Incentive Modeling: Structure and model performance-based incentive frameworks for sales teams and present them for management approval.

  • Axiata Group Liaison: Assess investment feasibility for Investment Committee approvals and reliably furnish all Axiata Corporate Center deliverables—including rolling forecasts, EWG/Cost EWG presentations, and ad-hoc corporate requirements.

Entry Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business with First Class (Hons), OR a specialized Management Degree from a highly reputed university.

  • Professional Qualifications: CIMA examinations fully completed (ACMA membership is highly preferred).

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience within a similar corporate planning, strategy, or financial modeling scope.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office package, with expert-level capabilities in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

  • Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal capabilities coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
