Team Leader – Operations
Barclays | Birmingham, United Kingdom Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (Shifts between 08:00 – 19:00)
The Opportunity
Step into a leadership role at Barclays Birmingham, where you will oversee operations within a key business area. You will be responsible for maintaining seamless processes, implementing risk management initiatives, and ensuring strict compliance with regulatory standards. In this role, you will also help drive our digital evolution, utilizing technology to enhance our service offerings and deliver unparalleled customer experiences.
Key Accountabilities

Operational Management: Direct the daily operations of a team of 8–12 professionals, ensuring high-quality delivery and efficient workflow.

Performance Optimization: Monitor data and performance metrics to identify trends, improve procedures, and develop new KPIs.

Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a primary point of contact for internal business leaders, SMEs, and external vendors to ensure alignment with bank objectives and SLAs.

People Leadership: Provide coaching and guidance to support professional development, manage retention initiatives, and foster a safe, inclusive “speak-up” environment.

Risk & Compliance: Ensure all activities meet regulatory requirements and internal policies, taking ownership of risk mitigation and control strengthening.
The Candidate
We are looking for a disciplined leader with a background in cash management and a passion for customer service excellence.
Essential Skills & Experience:

Leadership: Proven experience managing teams of 8–12 people.

Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with IPortal and Barclays.Net.

Expertise: Solid background in Cash Management and query resolution.

Communication: Ability to guide, persuade, and communicate complex information to diverse stakeholders.

Availability: Ability to work flexible shifts within the 08:00 to 19:00 window.
Desirable Skills:

Previous experience within Financial Services.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to rapid change.
