Job Overview
We are seeking a Manager, Statutory Reporting to lead a regional financial controllership team in Colombo. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with statutory, tax, and management reporting requirements while delivering excellence in financial stewardship. The successful candidate will provide leadership, manage complex reporting frameworks, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Duties
- Lead, train, and develop a team of 7–10 finance professionals within the controllership function.
- Oversee statutory financial reporting, ensuring compliance with group and local regulations.
- Monitor month-end closing processes, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews.
- Drive adherence to SOX controls and internal/external compliance frameworks.
- Collaborate with tax, treasury, audit, and general accounting teams as well as external auditors and outsourced providers.
- Foster a culture of process improvement, knowledge sharing, and high-quality reporting.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, CA) or degree in Accounting/Finance with 7–9 years of relevant experience.
- Strong IFRS knowledge and proven track record in statutory reporting for large organizations.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle, HFM, and Blackline systems.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships and deliver results under strict deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and leadership abilities to motivate and inspire teams.
- Process-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
