The Role & Responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor at Quantix Cost Consultants, you will play a vital role in supporting projects through cost analysis, financial planning, and contractual advice. Your responsibilities will include:

Cost Estimation & Analysis: Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates, and budgets for diverse construction projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client requirements.
Contract Administration: Assist in drafting, evaluating, and managing contracts to safeguard both client and company interests while mitigating financial risks.
Tender Management: Coordinate tendering processes, evaluate contractor proposals, and provide recommendations that balance cost efficiency with quality standards.
Project Monitoring: Track ongoing project costs, manage variations, and produce periodic financial reports to support decision-making.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, and clients to align financial strategies with technical solutions, ensuring smooth project delivery.

Each responsibility is designed not only to manage financial aspects but also to create value through proactive advice and transparent reporting.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should bring a strong mix of technical expertise and practical experience. Preferred qualifications include:

Educational Background: A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field. This academic foundation ensures you have the necessary technical grounding.
Professional Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years in cost consultancy or construction projects, with proven ability to manage budgets and contracts effectively.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Excel, enabling accurate reporting and efficient data handling.
Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with Sri Lankan construction laws, standards, and industry practices, ensuring compliance in all work.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication in English and Sinhala, helping you build trust and clarity with clients and colleagues.
